Wi‑Fi cameras: pros and when they fit
Wi‑Fi cameras need no data cabling — just power. They suit rented units, quick add-ons, and spots where running cable is difficult. Signal strength and router placement matter; avoid areas with weak coverage.
PoE (wired) cameras: stability first
Power over Ethernet delivers power and data over one cable. No Wi‑Fi dropouts, consistent recording, and easier scaling. Preferred for offices, multi-camera setups, and mission-critical coverage.
Hybrid setups
Many sites use PoE as the backbone and add Wi‑Fi cameras where cabling is impractical. We can design a mix that matches your layout and budget.
During a free site assessment we recommend Wi‑Fi vs PoE (or a mix) based on your property and coverage needs.
